Welcome to Twalla.org

Serapa Sa Tsepong is a 100% volluntary community based project taking place in the tiny village of Ha Matsoete in the Kingdom of Lesotho, South Africa.
For the past three years we have been building a community center which will be used as a center point for activities including AIDS/HIV education, craftwork, music & performance.  We are working to inspire, motivate and build a self-sustainable community which will grow through learning and positivly benefit all involved.  Our focus is to help those in need the most: the unemployed, the unskilled & the youth affected by AIDS/HIV and poverty.  We are currently working towards thatching the roof of the community center, but also have plans for outdoor workshops, a small library and projector cinema, tourist accomodation, bakery and animal krall.

The project has been started  on a 100% volluntary basis by Justin Roberts of the UK and Sarah Dixon of Australia.  We are working alongside and co-ordinating the project alongside the village Chief, Martin Malapo, Mpho and other motivated individuals of the surrounding communities.

We are teaching craft skills including jewelry and leather work in workshops held under the shade of a tree in true African style.  Donations of craft materials including sewing machines, macrame cord and stoneworking tools would be greatly appreciated!

Currently we are in the midst of changing the name of the project from Twalla to Serapa sa Tsepo, which means Garden of Hope.  We think the new name reflects our ideals perfectly!
